Sinopsis:
Pilares de Nacozari es un extraño pueblo fantasma. Tiene solamente dos habitantes, Eva y Félix, vivieron casados en este entorno abandonado por muchos años. Hace un año se separaron definitivamente. Ahora los dos siguen siendo los únicos habitantes de este pueblo minero desolado, sin embargo, ellos no se hablan ni se miran. Su amor se ha convertido en un fantasma.
Marusia Estrada Zepeda was born in México City. She studied Physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM and graduated conducting her thesis at the Astronomical Institute of the UNAM. Later on, she attended the University Center of Cinematography Studies (CUEC) where she studied cinematography, specializing in filmmaking and production. She took intensive filmmaking laboratories at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Italy and in the independent collective of Cine Fujaka also in Rome, Italy. Her short films have been short-listed for national and international festivals where they have won awards in different categories. Her documentary Tiempo Detenido (Still time) won an Honorable Mention at the José Rovirosa Award 2011. Film critic Jorge Ayala Blanco has analyzed her works El Insecto (The Insect), El sonido de la Luz (The Sound of Light) and Después del Día (After the Day) in several of his Mexican film books for Océano Publishing House. She was awarded a scholarship by the Film Library of UNAM for her film thesis at the CUEC. In theater, she wrote the scientific dramaturgy of the play Tiburón (Shark), selected for the Youth Dramaturgy Festival 2014 and the cultural theater circuit of México City. Her documentary for Mexican Cultural Television Campeona de Lucha Libre (Wrestling Champion) was nominated in different categories, including best direction and production values at the Pantalla de Cristal Festival. She has been the producer and director of Gravedad Cero Films for the series Maestros Olvidados del SPR and Noctámbulos: Historia de una Noche for Canal Once of México. Producing for directors such as Arturo Ripstein, Yulene Olaizola, Lucía Gajá and Paulina del Paso among others. In February 2017 Marusia Estrada was selected among the 176 Creative Leaders of the Audiovisual Industry by the magazine Semanario Pantalla. Her documentary El Secreto de los Escarabajos (The secret of the beetles) won Best Documentary film at the MUNIC 2018.
